Start with an identifiable sample
A useful sample review connects the physical frame to a written specification. Record the catalogue SKU, sample date, drawing revision, finish reference and artwork file before checking it. A photograph or a product name alone may not identify the version you intend to order.
This guide is a buyer’s preparation checklist. It is not a report of testing performed on Youchuang products. Measurements, acceptance criteria and any inspection arrangement need to be agreed for the selected model and order.
- Define the reference. Keep the drawing, component list, artwork and packaging requirements together under one version.
- Record what arrived. Photograph the sample, its identification and the pack contents. Note anything missing before reviewing it.
- Compare and document. Record the required value or appearance alongside the observation, with measurements or photographs where useful.
- Resolve the differences. Identify the correction needed, its owner and whether a revised sample or further evidence is required.
Check the complete frame and pack
Use the table to prepare checks for your project. If a requirement has no agreed criterion, record it as unresolved rather than inventing a tolerance or marking it accepted.
Swipe across the table to see every column.
| Check | Compare with the requirement | Keep as evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Artwork fit | Artwork dimensions, rear fitting space and the area visible through the frame or mat. | Labelled measurements and a photograph with the intended artwork. |
| Frame dimensions | Outside width, height, depth and the required orientation. | Results with units and the drawing revision used. |
| Material and finish | Specified body material, colour, texture and finish around the corners and edges. | Written material confirmation, finish reference and photographs. |
| Glazing, mat and backing | Specified components, their fit, visible condition and retention. | Component list and notes on any mismatch or damage. |
| Display and closure | Stand or hanger arrangement, intended orientation and opening or closing method. | Photographs or video of the agreed sample checks. |
| Personalized artwork | Wording, spelling, dates, position and size against the identified artwork file. | The file version and a close view of the sample result. |
| Set contents | Count and identity of each frame, mat, fitting, insert or accessory in one retail set. | An itemized list and an opened-pack photograph. |
| Packaging and labels | Protective materials, retail presentation, SKU labels and proposed carton information. | Pack photographs, label proofs and confirmed pack quantities. |
| Requested documents | Whether supplied documents cover the product, material, date and market requested. | Document identifiers, scope and unresolved evidence requests. |
For a clearer size brief, use the frame measurement guide. The materials guide helps separate the frame body from glazing, backing and fittings.
Record a decision for each open point
Use clear outcomes such as accepted against the agreed requirement, revision required, or awaiting evidence. Keep the requirement, observed result, photograph or document reference, decision and next action on the same line.
Record who made each decision and which version they reviewed. If the material, drawing, finish, artwork or packaging changes, review the affected items again and retain the earlier record. Agreement on appearance does not settle an unresolved dimension or component requirement.

Plan production inspection separately
A sample review describes the item examined. It does not show that every item in a later production batch matches it. Before production or shipment, agree the inspection scope, sample-selection approach, acceptance criteria, required evidence and how unresolved findings will be handled.
Packaging should be considered with the intended distribution route. Retail presentation, a master carton and a parcel delivered to an end customer can have different requirements. Ask which packaging evaluation is appropriate for the actual product and route, and request the resulting evidence if testing is required.

Bring the unresolved points into the enquiry
State the sample you want to review, the intended use, the destination and the evidence you need. Include the relevant SKU or drawing so that the requirements can be discussed for a specific frame.
